Quhmax Adax is the oldest Mastodon of his nation. He alone remembers when the star fell that changed the world of ice and caused the mutations to begin. After many decades the Mastodons changed, they became intelligent, they began to rule the ice. The mystical Mastodon tribe became the reigning force on the ice, magnificent and strong, they tread the snow as a solid, unsurmountable nation, bound by unbreakable ties of blood. Females of the herd hold high rank and stand as judges and advisors to the king. The Mastodon nation is deeply religious and holds ceremonies to contact the ghosts of their dead ancestors with which they communicate and take advice. Living for hundreds of years, the Mastodons are wise, calm, and serene, they only do battle if Ice Bears, Smilodons, or Dire Wolves attack them. When roused, they are unstoppable. They are tolerant of the Seal People. They have a bond with the Orcas. During a mass stranding, the Mastodons lead by Quhmax Adax pushed and slid the whales back into the water all through the night. Many Orcas were saved, now there is an unbreakable bond between the two tribes.
